Waxing

Why Choose to wax

Waxing is the most efficient way to temporarily remove unwanted hair from the body. With longer lasting results than shaving or using depilatory creams as re-growth is softer and finer due to the gradual weakening of the hair because the whole shaft and root is removed with each treatment.
Will it hurt? is the most common question for 1st time waxing clients.
The answer is no (contrary to popular comedy sketches) it may feel uncomfortable but it is not jumping off the couch painful!
To ensure you have the most comfortable treatment possible I use both Flexiwax and Clean & Easy warm strip wax.

Waxing Treatment

To achieve the most successful outcome any hair which has previously been shaved, plucked or threaded should be left to grow for about 3 weeks – winter may be the best time to start if you’ve been thinking about it for a while.
I will choose the most effective method to use depending on the area to be treated and strength of the hair.

I have 2 methods of waxing: For both methods the skin is prepped and a small amount of talc is applied to help wax adhere to the hairs.
‘Hot’ Flexiwax is slightly warmer than body temperature and is brilliant to treat underarms, bikini lines and very strong dark leg hairs.
The wax is applied thickly in small patches – the heat opens the pores to allow quick and easy removal.
‘Warm’ Clean & Easy wax can be used on Legs, finer underarm hairs, upper lip, chin, eyebrows and back.
The wax is applied with an easy roller method before a strip of muslin is rubbed over the top which when removed takes the wax and hairs with it.
After waxing a soothing, cooling gel or cream is applied.
All areas will be red following treatment and you must avoid being in the sun, swimming, going to the gym or using a sauna for 24hours post treatment.

The area is left smooth as you leave and the hairless state should last 2-3 weeks.
Regular waxing treatments are usually 4-6 weeks apart (depending on area and hair type/growth) over time the hairs become finer and less obvious.

Waxing is a very effective way of removing unwanted hair from the face and body.
Areas that can be treated are: Eyebrows, upper lip, underarms, back & shoulders, arms, bikini line and legs.

With my over 30 years experience I use a combination of ‘hot wax’ (its name sounds worse than it is – as it is kept at a constant comfortable temperature) and Clean & Easy warm/strip wax.
